This week I had the opportunity to participate, together with Barbara, in a talk at Adult Literacy League<\/a><\/strong>, a non-profit organization that works to help adults improve their English, develop new skills and access more opportunities through education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of the session was clear: to show how artificial intelligence can be a real ally in everyday life<\/strong>, The program is designed for both teachers and students, without unnecessary technicalities or barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was not a talk about the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a talk about the present<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We talked about how AI can help teachers prepare more personalized lessons, students practice English with greater confidence, and people solve everyday tasks more simply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At one point in the talk, someone raised their hand and said something very simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thought this wasn't for me.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That comment summed it all up. From there, the conversation changed. We stopped talking about technology and started talking about confidence, learning without shame and being encouraged to try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very real questions began to appear, the kind that show genuine interest and critical thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why use ChatGPT and not another tool?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

what about data privacy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does AI consume a lot of power?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is this going to cost us more over time?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Far from slowing down the talk, these questions made it richer. They allowed us to talk honestly about limits, care, impact and responsible use. They made it clear that artificial intelligence is neither magic nor a replacement, but a tool that must be understood before use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing I found particularly inspiring was the profile of the group. Most of them were older people, many already retired, who chose not to stay still. People with curiosity, eager to keep learning, asking questions and exploring new tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing that genuine interest in understanding and adapting is a strong reminder that learning has no age<\/strong>, and that technology, well explained, can be a bridge and not a barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My role was to facilitate that first contact: to translate concepts, lower barriers and show that artificial intelligence does not replace people, but can enhance what they already know and do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very grateful to be able to contribute to initiatives such as Adult Literacy League<\/strong>, The program is designed to generate a real impact on the community and help more people feel included in this new technological context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This type of space reflects very well the focus of my current work and the book I am writing: bringing artificial intelligence to real people, in real contexts, in a simple, practical and fearless way.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experiences like this confirm something I deeply believe in: when knowledge is shared with honesty and clarity, the impact is multiplied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue. Always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
